Knowing the Children We Teach features data from a research study we conducted over 2 years

Participants: 40 music teachers from diverse backgrounds, locations, ethnicities. Our participants represent teachers at all stages of their careers.

Method: Video Ethnographies

Our participants responded to a series of prompts about childhood and music teaching experiences in self-recorded video journals.

Data Analysis: All transcripts of the video ethnographies were transcribed verbatim and analyzed according to themes (musicality, spirituality, goodness, kindness, play, etc.)
